I have been toying with selling my 80 and buying a 200 to build out, and I swear I saw an LX 570 in person that had the fold down seat option like the 08+ Sequoias and GX460's have, vs the "fold to the side" like 80's and 100's have.

Now I can't find any 200's that have that as an option online. Am I smoking something or was that an option at some point?

It's body on frame. No room under that floor for seats. First thing I did to my 100 series, and now 200, was to yank the 3rd row out.

maybe you were looking at a GX460, pretty sure those seats lay flat!?!?

GX460 is also body on frame. It does have a "fold flat" 3rd row.

But it's really a gimmick. It doesn't so much fold flat *into* the floor (like a unibody design), but it just lays flat on top of the floor. The rear floor between the seat and the tailgate has a dummy box built up to be the same height as the seat in the down position, such that it create a higher flat false floor. This makes the floor absurdly high. And wastes space vertical that could otherwise be used.

Notice the tall vertical barrier at the bottom of the door opening.

The LC/LX seats can also fold flat if one wants to make drawers to be the same height in the space behind the 3rd row. Alternatively can be folded away to the sides.

Thanks guys, that helps clear things up. It was a friend's rig that I don't see very often, now you have me wondering if it was a 460 not a 570.

I have an 80 and GX470, and would love to get the space of a Sequoia, but with the off road capability of an LC.

Look at the raised floor in that photo though. They get around the body-on-frame lack of under-space by raising the entire rear floor...

My method for a achieving a flat, no-wheel-well-bump rear floor is by adding ARB drawers...which gives a massive flat floor when the 2nd row is folded down, but not up against the front seats. Creates a sleep surface for every bit of my 6'3" body...
