What brands/weight are you guys using for oil/trans/diffs/radiators/flux capcitors? I figured I would get some local info on the club forum. Thanks!

Oil: either Delo or Delvac Diesel oil (haven't gone synthetic yet)
trans and power steering: Castrol Import multivehicle ATF
Diffs: Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube
coolant: toyota red

Main thing to remember here is when they were made. Long time ago and we use them in third world countries running on whatever we can find. I myself have been running Castrol GTX for 20 odd years now on mine. I usually go 10/40 and then ofcourse 80/90 for the other components. Toyota red is the best. But you have to completely get rid of the green stuff in it if it is in there. They do not mix. And do not get Toyota pink.

oil - i have used Delo, Delvac, Rotella and Rotella Synthetic

Diffs - Mobil 1

T-case - Royal Purple

Coolant - anything the store has

Brake fluid - Valvoline Synthetic

PS fluid - mobil 1

I get 5 gallon buckets of rotella T 10-40 motor oil and use that in every motor I have.

I use Coastal 80/90 gear oil for diffs, transmission and transfer case. ( will change when I put this new tranny in )

Whatever ATF is on sale.

Whatever 50/50 glycol / water mix is on sale.

Whatever brake fluid is on sale.

This is one of those questions you ask 100 different people and you will get 100 different answers. As long as they have the correct viscosity in them they will be fine. In other words. 80/90 where it goes and engine oil where it goes. I could tell you what i have done overseas but that is better around a campfire.

I'm right there with you Darin, it's totally opinion based.

BTW, I use only the finest, Virgin Full-Synthetic Headlight Fluid.

Speaking of fluids, Johnny I still have about 10ga of slightly used peanut and canola oil... it's been settling for a while...
