hey all

I’m looking to buy floor jack and jack stand
Harbor freight has some sweet deals on 3ton floor jacks and 3ton jack stand .
Does two pair of 3tons jack stands (4 jacks stands in total) can hold the weight of the rig? I have no mods ?
Does a 3 ton floor jack can do the job as well?

I have a 3 ton craftsman floor jack and it has no problem lifting the LC. I have also used the 3 ton stands with no problem to support a corner at a time. Never had all four up using jack stands but I dont think it should be an issue.

That's plenty of weight rating on the jack stands for your LC.
I'd be a bit weary of a harbor freight floor jack if you plan to use it for more than a couple years. The seals will eventually leak hydraulic fluid.

Besides weight you need to consider the size (height) of the jack stands. I have a set of 3ton and 6ton (I think).

The 3tons are almost too short for my Land cruiser unless I am supporting under the axle.

The 6tons are almost too tall for my street cars (BMW and even my honda pilot to some degree).

It's a combination of how high the jack will lift, but also where your support points are. So I have a set of both jack stands. short ones usually go in the front (I know, most of the weight is there) and tall ones in the back.

Trunk Monkey is correct...per pair...not each, so not much safety margin.

And I like the stands that have a pin that you insert in the hole for even more safety.
