Out of nowhere this morning the 4LO light starts flashing, accompanied with a TRAC OFF message and Check Engine light.

Truck is definitely NOT in 4LO. I've tried selecting 4LO then back to 4H to see if the flashing would stop. When I select CRAWL CONTROL, it indicates I need to be in 4LO first. Other than these indicator/warning lights being on, the truck seems to be functioning normally.

Any idea what's going on?

Wait..........

I think I've found my answer. Nev.... mi......

Hell, before I could try doing anything about it, it stopped.

Often as simple as evaporator issues.
Get an OBD2 reader that lets you reset.
Look for codes.
If evap related, a reset via ObD2 will get you back to golden....til it hits again.

I have my OBD2 per mantle plugged in with an in-wire on/off switch. Gotten to where O can reset in about 15 seconds without looking. ;)

Related - yet unrelated - to this specific 4L issue, if it we’re actually getting stuck in 4L, before your dealer tells you you have an actuator that needs replaced and it’s going to cost $4000, you can try cleaning the transfer case with ATF and cycle 4L/H engagements many times. ATF is very detergenty and after you flush with new 75-90. Your problem will likely be solved for next to nothing.

This sounds like the P2610 issue that I had. I think the TSB affects 2014-2015 LC's and is covered under warranty up to 80k. Wasn't a big deal...

I have this same issue, we call it the "Moab code" because we believe it's caused by all of the fuel issues we have while there. I reset mine about every 2 to 3 days, takes about 5 seconds...

I have these same symptoms along with the error code p032c for a knock sensor circuit error. My mechanic buddy says this is normally a rat, mouse, squirrel gnawing on the wires under the intake manifold. Anybody have this issue and fix it? 2014 LX570 70k miles.

Update - used my endoscope and confirmed a nest under the driver's side of the manifold.

I think this is documented issue here on ih8mud, on the 2013-2014 plus models can you please update what if any wiring damage you found and if you contacted a dealer what is the anticipated cost of repair.

On a similar boat here, I am looking into a prospective buy, read the Lexus maintenance records. It says 4LO was flashing and there were the two codes P0441, P0456 INCORRECT PURGE FLOW AND SMALL LEAK DETECTED IN EVAP. Car was brought into dealership 4 times with the same problem, they ran smoke tests leak tests, gas cap replacement but couldn't clear it. Car was traded in by owner as a result. Next records indicate more work was done in the order 1. Crankshaft position sensor was replaced (which is strange since it is a P0335) 2. Charcoal cannister replaced and 3. Battery replaced Don't see a purge solenoid replacement. Any insights as to what could be happening here. Do you think the unit associated with EVAP is damaged? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
