Do you have a Big Lots near you? I picked these up fo $3@. Made in the USA and about 1/3 the price of the local hardware store. If you do any metal work, fabbing or finishing, these are very handy. I got 24, 40, 80 and 120 grit.
Just thought I'd brag a little.

nice catch, I'll have to swing by the Biglots here in Wichita and see they have any.

IB, I can go and get you some. You never know which Big Lots! will have what.
I'm sure we'll hook up at Poser's sometime. Not really "hook up" but you know....:D

those are so much nicer than a grinding wheel.
quieter and a much better finish

I must suck at life or something, 'cause I have yet to have any luck with these things. I always wear them out VERY quickly and then go back to the grinding disc.

I have found the sandpaper wheels, designed to be used with a rubber backing plate, work great all by themselves. They contour under pressure to the shape of whatever you're sanding. They are particularly useful on round tube.

you must ;)
just kidding

what you don't want to do is use them on a hot weld or load them up with powder coating. thay will burn and load up.
unhsercoating is no good either.:frown:

Ary, try the Dewalt Zirconium flap disc sanders. They are the shizzl. The 36 grit ones can eat up some metal like nobodies business and last almost as long as a grinding wheel on my 4-1/2" grinder. I don't know what they cost in the real world, but I pay 2.94 each ;)

Madd, three of the ones I bought are Zirconium, but I've never seen them that cheap.....that's why I bought them. You must get a deal on them, huh?

Yeah, I get em at wholesale cost at work. I get a lot of my tools thru work. saves me a few bucks and I don't have to go anywhere to get em. Convenient! :)
