I just had a crazy idea! Are the front axles on a 105 series the same as the 80 series?? And how similar are the 105 and 100 series (may ask this in the 100 series tech) So could I buy a 100 series and cut the ifs out and put in a solid axle??

Maybe that'll be my first after college build up! Damn this school taking up so much cruza time!

Wouldn't it be the same as any SAS done to an IFS?

FWIW, the IFS on the 100 really isn't bad.

Technically the upgrade would be a SAS 100; it would not be the same as a 105. The frame in the 105 is different than the 100 series frame.

There would be other issues like having 5 bolt rims on the rear and 6 bolt rims on the front. You'd need to convert something or carry 2 spares.

Think the width might be different--either that or the rear axle width is different between 105 and 100 series.

The 100 series are also 5 lug, not sure about the 105.

Good place to post this would be in the international section.

The 105 rear FF is 5 lug as well - someone posted pics a while back of a 105 front axle (hub to hub w/ locker) they had imported from Aus. From what I remember the frame is substantially different ... not to mention engine clearance (105 is 1HZ/1FZE).
