Has anyone read the Wikipedia tree regarding the Camry? Can someone who didn’t spend all day in the sun tearing off shingles please let me know which US years count as 3rd gen?

Hey All-

Thought I would pass along this information as I have been searching for a new master power window switch but have not wanted to spend $250 on an OEM one. This could be a great alternative for $25 and lifetime warranty...

I'll post back once I recieve and install the new switch.

Does the "auto-up" work on this master switch? I ordered one a few years ago and it didn't have that feature, and it couldn't be modified with a diode like the OEM unit. It looks like it has it now. I sent it back and they charged me for the free shipping, restocking fee, plus my shipping to them, thats why I want to know 100% before I buy it again. The one I ordered from them looked and operated fine. The other options are the Dorman 901-700 for $96.00 or OEM.

Mine didnt have the auto up, and i voided any sort of warranty by cutting out the LED diode since it was way too bright for my tastes.

I replaced the master switch with a Switch Doctor part in late April 2018. I'm now in the process of filing a warranty claim to replace the defective unit (Front PS window button quit working).

Switch Doctor replaced the first master switch and it worked well for ~ 3 months, about the same amount of time as the first one. Now my DS rear button does not work in the up position. I'm probably going back to the OEM switch.

I to am interested in the auto-up feature.
I tend to be a restoration purist, so I will probably get the SwitchDoctor part and use it long enough to get the original switch cleaned, modded and working better.

I picked one of these switchdoctors up last yr after seeing this thread. Installed it and it’s alright. Kinda cheap(20 bucks is 20 bucks, right?) lol it didn’t have the auto-up though. Just in the last week I got Joey’s auto-up diode soldered into my factory switch and it’s all cleaned up and back in. Modded/cleaned factory FTW IMO.

I purchased one of these switch doctors through amazon. It works well in my 1996 and the switches have less play/feel tighter. So far I like it but I'm worried the switches will crack at the pivot tabs after a while. We'll see.

The switchdoc master switch failed me this morning. The drivers side rear window switch won’t work from the master anymore. I have to reach back and use the door switch. Womp womp. I need to clean my old master switch and get it back into service.

So you got 2-1/2 years of service?

I am on my 7th year of service on my switchdoctor unit now. I'm happy, but I'm guessing quality changes over the years.

I've got one in my 80 series that I've had for about 3 years now. No issues with it, though I admit it doesn't get a lot of use.

Have a spare switch in the back of the vehicle at all times. They are crazy cheap.

Yes. The rest of the switches are still working. Just the one decided to give up on me.
