Hi Guys,

I've been in this forum many time before but I mainly use the blue forum due to the fact that I have an FJ Cruiser.

With that being said, I now want to buy an 80 to join my FJC and found one that is very reasonably priced but it comes with what the original owner says has to be a minor problem.

the truck has 220K miles in mynt conditions per images (paint, leather, etc). Owner says that it was his dads and that the old man can't drive any more. Said the truck was parked at his house 2 months ago and it had or showed no problems at all. He went to started last week and noticed the truck is now knocking. His mechanic says that it could be that oil pump or pick up line might have clogged from sediments sitting in the oil pan.

what do you guys think? I am planning on taking a mechanic with me but knocking sound is never good IMO.

It all depends on the price knocking engine sounds like a big problem I'd offer them 1100 and then pull the engine for a rebuild or drop in a used motor. At 220000 miles the engine could need some pm and some new seals. People abused these cause u really could.

There are a number of things that can cause a knock sound that are unrelated to the crank bearings.
