Hi, does anyone sell a TRE reamer for a FJ62 taper. I swapped 62 axles under my series land rover and i am looking to use all factory toyota TRE. I need to ream my pitman arm out to accept the factory drag link end.
thanks
mike

Thanks for the reply,
Does the fj62 and the fj80 have the same taper??
my other thought was to ream things out and go w/ gm 1 tons. what are your thoughts ......
thanks again

Awesome thanks for the help!!!! One last question I promise....I'm looking for some weld-in bungs for dom tuning that will fit the fj62 thread pitch, any suggestions on where to find those???
Thanks again
Mike

21mm x 1.5 for the relay rod, 23mm x 1.5 for the tie rod. You'll need left and right threads. I have no idea if anyone makes them as an inventory part. You might call Redline Land Cruisers. He likes to play with machining tools. All Pro was cutting tie rods with the 23mm ends. I was cutting them for Man-a-Fre for about ten years but the market died and my taps did too. Unfortunately there's not enough call for custom tie rods to reinvest in the four taps needed to cover what you need for 60's and 80's. They need to be custom made taps and that gets pricey

I wish reamers weren't so damned expensive. Be great to just go ahead and do the GM 1-ton end conversion while I've got my front end torn apart, but we're pinching pennies at this point.

It might be cheaper in the long run considering the availability of custom tie rod parts. Right and left hand standard taps are so much cheaper than the 21mm and 23mm oddball taps, that Toyota decided to use , that you'll find a whole lot more shops that can help you with that. There are some plug taps out there in the 23 and 21 right hand but for use in a mill , lathe or other machine assisted applications a spiral point tap works much better. So far I've had to have them custom made, 250~300 a piece, one at a time. Last time I had them built I had to buy three each to get the price to about 135.00 each. It's dumb to buy just one because the tap may last 40 holes or just 5 if you're not paying attention...or let the new guy do it

Thanks for all the info, I'm going to make a few phone calls in the morning.

Here's option B....my brother has the reamer for gm 1 ton tre. Is there enough material to safely ream out the right side tre on a fj60 (where the drag link attaches to the tre) and use a gm 1 ton connected to the fj60 passenger tre and then ream out or use a weld in insert for the pitman arm????

Hope that makes sense
Thanks again
