Having issues with high beams on our 88 FJ62, go figure.
I'm 90% sure I've narrowed it down to, most likely, a wire that's broken or grounded after 12v splits to high/low.
High beams dont work
High beams dont have 12v
The high beam indicator works
The low beams turn off
Here's the interesting part - installed LED lights into the low buckets and in high beam mode, the LEDs turn on very dimly.
If I turn lights/brights on and then supply 12v to the headlight directly to the right high beam (red/blue) the lights flash and the fuse blows.
If there was an issue with the relay or grounding there should be 12v, and if I apply 12v to where it should be it shouldn't blow the fuse.
So, since the low work and they share fuses I would imagine theres a split in the wiring somewhere.
(Checked the blue connector, all looks well. Pulled the steering wheel and the switch seems to be all encased - given that it only switches ground I dont see how that would be the issue - also pulled the relay harness and all looks well on the backside).
Lowbeam headlights installed for thread attention....
