fj62 engine swap into fj60 help

So the motor is going out on my FJ60. Had a local engine specialty place have a look at it and the word is the wrist pins are going out. Sounds like a diesel too bad it isn't...

Found a FJ62 for $500 but what do i need to do to make sure the motor is in good shape? The oil cap is missing and I am wondering about water in the oil. In any case the car had been sitting for at least 6 months but it fired up like a champ. What do you guys recommend? I was thinking a quick oil change and then do a compression test.... From what I understand I am looking for about 150 psi after warming up the motor and removing all spark plugs. Is there anything else I should check?

Also I would really like to talk to someone who has actually done this swap it doesn't seem too bad but as with any project like this I know I will forget something and I want someone who has done this already for tech support.

Swapping a 3FE from on FJ62 into another will be straighforward and fairly easy since you're not changing engine types. Just keep up with all the parts. They're will be a bunch of misceallaneous seals and gaskets which you should replace. And it will cost you more than you expect.
