I wanted to post my website where I am updating the build of my FJ62, and I will use it for my upcoming 1 Year Expedition to Mexico, Central America. Thanks!

Anyone that lives down this way PLEASE get ahold of me, and I will look you up! I am camping the whole way, and checking out a lot of historical sites as we go, I love Mexico!

Sounds like the plans for my long term goal! Except it will be in my FJ55 and matching trailer- good luck in your endevors and travels

thanks

I hope everything goes as planned and I get the truck back in October, done. I will need to get the RTT and a few things still like lights. I will post more soon. Going camping in it this weekend before dropping it off.

Make sure you let me know when you're in Guatemala City. Don't get too far from stock and remember, Mexico is NOT overpopulated with LandCruisers so be prepared to fix what goes wrong when in Mexico.

x2 let me know when you hit San Salvador, I'll take you guys around to meet the guys in my 4x4 club, a fair number of cruiser heads there.

Thanks!

I will! You can pm me or email me with somehow to reach you.. We're surfer's too and will also try and get surf reports from you too! Bringing 4 boards, 2 dogs.

photos of work

Today I blacked out the 20 year old chrome grill with flat black primer/paint. Then painted Toyota word red. Looks awesome, it was getting dark when I took photo. The I also removed the rear cargo window tint that was scratched up, and blacked out the cargo windows for more security on my trip. Here's some pictures from today. The whole project is at http://web.mac.com/mikepierson/iWeb/Mike Pierson/Welcome.html

I don't know if I'd totally obsure the cargo windows unless you're planning to be loaded so high that you can't use them anyways. It's an awfully big blind spot. We have some dark tint on the '55 and you cannot see in but you can still see out. I'll be re-tinting the '60 to match the '55 as the '60 is going purple after about 5 years.

look at these

Needed the privacy/security with the windows, and it cooler now back there. I am used to having a blind spot from years driving a step van, look 2 times before changing lanes always.
I was trying to replicate what I see Roy has done at "roy's cre'ations" in France-making polyester panels to fit several model Landcruiser's cargo area windows, with shelves and storage!

Lifted now-OME heavy system

My truck has been lifted now, and put a Bull Bar on front, sliders, custom rear bumper, ARB Simpson 2 tent for the custom expedition rack, and an ARB snorkel with 10" pre-cleaner. Plus the 5 speed put in(H-55F), and ARB fridge, dual AGM batteries, split charge system with monitor in cab, ARB air compressor, dual spare tire carriers, no carpet/vinyl matting.

I will post photos as soon as I have them, or pick up the truck from ProffittsCruisers.

I am now within 3 weeks from leaving and heading south to Mexico, starting my trip.

efuentes thanks!

If you need a free and secure place to camp in Los Mochis, Sinaloa (About a days drive south of Tucson) just send a PM.

Saludos and good luck on your trip.

Man I appreciate that offer! I will be on the Gulf side first, but when I take the ferry over to Baja, I may ask you. That would be awesome, last time I slept @ a gas station parking lot, Policia waited til' 4 am to harass me, then left. That gets old...
