I dont' have any recent pics. I picked up a set of arb sliders/rub rails that connect to the arb and a new sror rear bumper for cheap. I haven't installed any of it yet, waiting for it to cool off a bit.

all John's new add on's are making me miss my 62!
Nice job on the paint, that color back must be some good stuff!

That's not color back...it's turtle wax polishing compound...only took about 5 min. on that fender.

John (Lee) what size springs/tires are you running?

i used to use mothers 3 stage clean/wax/polish. Would take about an hour to do a little honda del sol.

The paint was pretty far gone. Would look nice and shiney for about 3-4 days then dull up again. The clear coat was pretty much gone.

Polish will only look/last so long depending on conditon of paint.

Silver/red fade the fastest.

Oops, thought you were using the color back.

jleefj62, sweet rig. Mine wont be modded much, it has to be a dd. Plus I have to get my 40 together. I am thinking a small lift and 31's (when these wear out or I can work a trade) and the bed liner to cover the rust repairs like in the ccot pic. Maybe put a cheap roof rack on it and maybe build a bumper after we do my 40 and build a bumper for David's 62.

I really want to do a ton of little things to the 62. Starting with a really good clean up but I really have to get the 40 put back on the road. Might be winter before this one gets rolling good.

3.5 ultra heavies and 33 bfg mt's. I dont think they've settle too much, but they will once i'm done with it.

Thank you - to be honest, i wasn't planning on mod'ing this much either. I was only thinking sliders, but the frt and rr bumpers were such a steal, i could pass them up. The bed liner is there to cover up rust repair on the rear qrters. 31's will be a good size tire for you since you will DD. I might regear to 4.88 to compensate for the 33's and hilly area.

i know i know, i'm a lazy bastid. I'm going to try to get the sliders bolted up after church on sunday. The bumper, i'll get some help from someone with air tools. My knuckles learned their lesson when i installed the arb.

don't forget i want your receiver when u install the bumper.

post some pics of it cleaned up.

some more

The truck has been polished, running boards removed and had the wheels cleaned up. I hate chrome except on hot rods......but... these factory chrome wheels came up nice so I'll probably leave them alone. The grill and bumpers are going black and after I do some rust repair I will probably paint the bottom portion with bed liner.

Inside-Is in really good shape.Small tear in the driver seat in the standard spot and a small stain on the passenger seat. Only got one small crack in the dash about an inch and a half long. Gas gage reads 3/4 when it is full but I hear thats pretty common to. I still have to break out the shop vac and do some cleaning but thats about it for now except for maybe tinting the windows for the boys.

Mechanically- David replaced battery and all the belts that the PO provided and adjusted the timing. It runs really good now.

It has even been tagged with an Upstate Cruiser, Lowcountry Land Cruiser, and IH8MUD sticker so I guess its official.

Looks good....she cleaned up nice.

Looks really good, glad to see that the paint cleaned up. I think the chrome is the best part on the fj62 and fj60 new trucks dont have really any metal or chrome bumpers.

I appreciate it but other than the wheels and the trim around the windows all the other chrome will be going bye bye. The chrome on the grill is all peeling off so it's getting a light sanding and going black soon.

a few more additions

Painted the grill and bumper with rustoleum bed liner along with the side vents and added an old roof rack that was laying around. Also added a cheap set of drivimg lights. I love my 62 (almost as much as my 40)!
