FJ62 Antenna

My atenna mast on my FJ62 broke so I searched through some old treads and got some good info. Some of the old treads indicated that I could buy a 4-Runner mast instead of buying the entire FJ62 antenna assembly.

Can this be done and if so what year 4-Runner antenna? Can someone explain how to replace it?

Also, what repair manual does everyone recommed, Haynes or Chilton?

is it a power antenna ( if so I have no clue)? I just replace my stock antenna on my 60. I just used a "universal antenna" available at just about any auto parts store. Took me about 10 mins to replace...

I replaced the mast on my power antenna on my FJ62 about a month ago. The P/N for the replacement mast is 86353-14332. It was around $30 with discount. You do have to remove your whole antenna assembly, disassemble it, and replace the mast. If I remember, you first have to remove the windshield washer bottle to get at the antenna.

Stay away from both Haynes and Chilton. Get the factory manual. You can download it from http://www.birfield.com/downloads-cat-1.html. This manual does not cover your 3FE engine. I haven't found anywhere to get that yet.
