Hi I went to check the 4x4 they told me some sensor does not work but I dont know wich is the sensor for the 4x4 he said it breaks up when you dont use it something like that, can somebody help me out before I pay big bucks?

Thank you! =)

There is a vacuum switch munted on the firewall that sometimes goes bad.Find a used one here its a easy install. Mike

If the switch fails can it fail in the on position? We had a late snow in March and I turned the 4x4 on at the switch and now the switch doesn't respond. Same problem or some other ghost?

Make sure the bulb is good.,pull switch and hot wire to check switch. Mike

There are two solenoids mounted on the firewall just to the passenger side of centerline that control the 2WD and 4WD positions of the transfercase. One's brown the other is blue. The brown one is the 2WD and is the one that normally fails since it's on all the time (assuming that you, like most of us, drive in 2WD most of the time).

A quick fix is to simply swap the vacuum hoses from the red and blue solenoids (where they go to the TC vacuum diaphram) to pull back into 2WD. The OEM replacment is expensive - around $300 new. Used ones from SOR will be less. There are several alternates with commercially available parts from MAC pneumatics - use the search tool to find the part numbers.

Good luck
