Hey everyone, I just received a 1987 FJ60. After I got it I did a full tune up on it. I got new spark plugs and wires, new air/fuel/oil filter, and checked all the fluids. It appeared to run much better than it did. I then tried to take it on the highway and it didn't seem to like that very much. It began to shake and the gas pedal would just depress all the way down without causing the car to accelerate. Anyway, I managed to get it back home and turned her off. Next time I tried to start it up, it would not idle, it would keep running as long as I kept pushing on the gas pedal. If I let off the gas it would shudder to a stop. I have a feeling it could be a problem with the carburetor, but I'm really no car expert. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I'd say check out the post from Jman on this thread:

Also, go ahead and do a forum search for "fuel cut solenoid" - there's a ton of threads about that problem and how to check it out.

sounds like the infamous fuel cut solenoid problem. Part #75 in the diagram. Check and make sure it's grounded, has power, is plugged in, etc.
