I need a trans tunnel cover plate. Its the part where the shifter boot screws into.

I think you will find your going to need a lot more a 60 series inspection cover to install a H55F into a 67 FJ40. When I put a H42 onto my 68 FJ40 I used a transmission tunnel from a mid seventies FJ40. That is about a inch taller than my 68. Even than I had add washer to the front motor mounts which lower the back to clear the floor behind the tunnel cover. I trimmed the cover to the length of the one from the 68 and modified it along the right side. Think for a H55F would start with a mid seventies tunnel cover and modify the tub to use the full length of the cover. Then depending on the which top cover your using on the H55F would go from there what inspection cover to us. Correct 40 series would find one from a 83/84 40 series. 60 series would start looking for one from a 70 that raises the area. Either way my think of a small body for better clearance. I would go that route before lowering the transmission further below the frame.

Basically what he’s saying is you will need more HEIGHT than you’re going to get out of a 60 top cover.

And of course he’s assuming you don’t know that.

I can readily get at the cover in the ‘82 I’m parting out. I’d sell it for $30 or $40. But I have a hundred dollar order minimum.

[/QUOTE I already installed the h55...
I figure I will just modify a fj60 cover since they are easier to find...

Do you still need the tunnel plate. I have one out of 82 fj60. Yes it's the round openings. Shape changed on and after Apr 1985.

Pm if interested.

Thank you

I had no idea about the design change. Mine is the square one. Thanks for the offer...

The plate itself is the same. The change is only on the gear stick openings where the boot fits.

The shape itself changed 4/85 in the US market. I have both styles. The early one have four square corners. The later the back left corner is at a angle. I also show a 8/80-10/82 even earlier. That one I'm not sure if the footprint changed or was just the boot change. Here is the pre 4/85 and later style.

How much?

Keeping the red one in case I install a H55F in my FJ62 since it would bolt right in. Other one was bought by mistake. While I would sell that one I was pointing out the difference to @87FJ60 lover18 who I think your already dealing with.

Thank you living in the past for showing the difference. You are very informative on the cruiser parts. I have read your comments prior.

Thanks...

I’m still looking for one. I need the later type with angled shifter boot Pattern.

just to add, as you can see in the pic the trans boot and ring are different shape, also the transfer boot and ring are different between the 2 versions
