Related sort of, but what are you 60 guys doing for an install kit? Crutchfield doesn’t show one and I don’t want it to look like crap with gaps. Any ideas on mounting for a single din that looks good?
As you can see in my pic, it still sorta looks like crap with gaps  but I plan to 3D print a black insert or something that glues on the mounting hardware. Smooth out the print lines with a little acetone, should look pretty good.

To mount the radio in there, it came with some of that bendable steel strip with holes in it. I bent it back to where the previous owner drilled a hole in a steel bracket in the dash. That supports the weight of the radio. Then the I just bent tabs on the included generic single din mounting bracket to secure it in the radio slot in the dash. I got the clarion radio from crutchfield and it came with everything I needed to install (except maybe one sheet metal screw) and that sucker is pretty solid in there.

I pulled this from Instagram. I like adding modern touches and this would also allow for a backup camera. Not sure if it’s what I’ll do but visuals certainly help me make decisions.

I have a Pioneer single din Sat/FM/AM/Bluetooth. It connects with my phone's music & telephone (I have the mic hooked on the visor and the cable running inside the windshield trim rubber). I opted for the one with no CD player cause who needs one of those things anymore. It's not as deep as one with CD either. I made a dash plug out of MDF to hold the radio as well cause the vinyl dash is all blown out.

Here is the most recent pic I could find of my Joying Unit installed. Best thing about these is that the screen height can be adjusted via the clips on the back.

I know this is an old thread. @gregnash wondering if you still like your Joying unit? I like the positioning of it but was wondering if the touchscreen is removable for security? I know some of the single DINs have screens that are recessed when not in use.

Also, if anyone has experience with any of the newer single din receivers, I'd love to see some photos! Thanks in advance.

While I don't have the truck anymore I believe the new owner does still have the Joying in it (see her around town on occasion). I loved the unit and the screen was removable so that you could just have the body in the dash. Had a simple ribbon cable that attached the screen to the unit with four clips that could be moved some to adjust position.

I now have a 100 series and actually put another Joying unit in that one (double din this time) and it has worked flawlessly for the 8 months I have had it.
