My two cents worth on fixing your wiper relay. My intermittent wiper setting was stuck, and the wipers were running all the time, even when I turned them off. I followed the posts on this thread, and also this one ( 83 FJ60 Windshield wiper noise - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/83-fj60-windshield-wiper-noise.1027654/ ) to fix my issue by cleaning the contacts and lubricating the gears. On lubricating the gears, I would recommend using a plastic compatible grease/oil so that the plastic does not deteriorate over time. Hope this helps.

btw - I have an 84 FJ60.

Just an update for anyone who might be trying to get wiper delay working on a FJ60. The relay up under the dash on my 1985 FJ60, i took it apart and the contacts on the relay on a little circuit board inside had welded together. I was able to find a little relay on Ebay that i soldered into the circuit board and it worked perfectly. I bought 10 of these relays for like $10. See pictures.

Can you please detail the part you bought on eBay (assuming it still exists) and where you did the solder repair? My relay failed this weekend and I am evaluating repair options in lieu of spending $200 on a used part on eBay.
