A well respected member(@reevesci) has sourced an upholsterer to make full cut and sewn carpet sets. @reevesci had a set made using his original set as the pattern. The carpet is OE style loop with 28oz jute backing. The pics shown are Reevesci's set.

This thread is to organize a group buy of 10 sets in either blue/grey(my color), or the brown that is pictured. I'll try to get a sample picture of the blue/grey and post it. The price would be $850.00 per set shipped to any of the lower 48 states. It must be 10 sets of the blue/grey color, or 10 sets of the brown color, or 10 sets of both colors.

If you've searched for a decent carpet set, you know there are 2-3 other options available. My own opinion of these is; (a) the price is a premium for a so-so appearance, (b) the grade of materials and fit is poor.

This set looks good(like OE) and is fairly priced. I'll admit the fit of the set is a bit unknown at this point. However I'm confident the fit will be reviewed by Reevesci with his initial set. If you're seen Reevesci's products and builds, you know quality is a high priority with his own creations as well as the vendors he sources from.

I'm installing a 3FE/H55f/split transfer case into my June 1986 FJ60 (I'm leaning towards the manual 4WD transfer shift instead of the vacuum shift from the '89 FJ62 donor). I haven't reached the point yet about modifications (if any) at the transmission cover, so don't know if/how the 5-speed vs. 4-speed shift lever would affect the front carpet piece. If all would be OK I'd definitely be interested in one blue/grey set. I can commit once I have an answer to the above.

If the fit and finish it equal to oem or better, please put me in for a set. When will this set be installed and we can have a full review? 1985 blue/grey interior.

OK, just checked. The shifter is in the same location front-to-back and side-to-side in the H55f and the H42, so it looks like the carpet set would work for me.

I'm possibly in for the brown. My cargo area carpet is crap, and I'd like the carpets to be up to snuff with the rest of the vehicle.

//gotta talk to the boss.....................

Am very interested in the grey. Would love to see the color as I have the blue/grey interior in my 85.

I'd be down for gray... if these would fit a FJ62?

I'm also interested in a brown set. Quality looks good.
I'm still a six months out with my restoration, but I should get on the list now before I miss out.
Thanks

Initial interest tally so far is;
6- blue/grey
- toyote
- vankc
- scottT
- chelo
- 4cruisers
- petrolhead

2- brown
- bigcruiserguy
- cruiserparkingonly

Thanks guys! Good start!

More info;
Assuming we get commitments for 10 sets the lead time is around 4-6 weeks once the order is placed.

Ordering requires 50 percent down payment($425) with full payment before shipment.

IIRC the rear heater is different from the 60 series. Shifter cut outs might be different too. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Call me dumb, but I'm a little confused. $850 = carpet for one vehicle? Or $850 = carpet for 10 vehicles? If the former, I'm in for blue/gray carpet. But I can't spend $850 for carpet right now... especially since it's available for less than that elsewhere.

I am interested in the grey, pending fit info.

Trans shifters will obviously be different between fj62 and fj60. Tcase location is same. Floor heater cut outs different too. Not sure on seat mounts between 62 and 60.

I assume it will be up to the end user to make final cuts based on vehicle.

Interestingly, the OEM carpet in my 62 is stamped/templated on the back side for the manual shifter and the auto shifter cutout.

Any chance you can do just the front portion that stops under the front seat? Maybe if the minimum is met?

My middle carpet is mint and I run rubber matting in the cargo area.

If so, I might be in for a brown front.

@FJ60Cam @petrolhead @Haggis @mk4leo @Cruiser Parking Only @vankc @4Cruisers @chelo @ScottT

I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon with my guy. I have given him a sample of the 60 series blue/grey.
I'm also going to talk with him about seat covers and door panels that match each other.

If I can get him to do partials I'll let you know.

IIRC the 62 series grey is darker... more of a greyish-charcoal. can someone confirm this.

I'll report back tomorrow evening.

I just took a look. My FJ62 (grey interior) and FJ60 (blue/grey interior) are sitting side-by-side in the driveway so I could open rear doors and do a direct comparison. The FJ62 carpet doesn't really appear to have any blue in it at all, and there's definitely a difference between the two colors, even though both are faded, maybe to a different extent.

BTW, thanks for pursuing this.
