Recently my radio and AC have stopped working. During troubleshooting, I found that both the radio (switched and constant) and AC compressor are only getting 6v instead of 12v. Both were working before this issue surfaced. I have tested both with an external power source and they are working.

Everything else electrical is working. The battery was recently replaced because it was bad, but the issue was present with the bad battery. The alternator is putting out 13.8v at idle.

The engine has been desmogged and is running a Holley Sniper. The fuses are good, 12v on the fuse box for the AC, the AC switch lights up and the stock AC idle up even gets 12v. Nothing has been added or removed.

I am at a loss for this and wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience or an idea of what the issue could be.

thanks!

Sonds like voltage drop due to high resistance in shared wiring or ground connections for the radio and AC compressor. Check and clean ground points for radio and AC compressor.BTrace wiring from fuse box to components for voltage drop.
Inspect shared connectors or junctions for corrosion or looseness. Test AC relay and ignition switch for resistance. Verify Holley Sniper wiring didn’t affect shared circuits.

I’ve been having trouble with the grounds in ours, cleaning and finding them. Two, one on the right and left side of the front window. Access from under the dash. Large orange one behind speedometer in the dash.
