I need a new driver's door for my '90 FJ62 due to rust. I have power locks and windows and mirror.

My question: Do I need an FJ62 door, or can I use an FJ60 door? Will the power equipment and interior panels, handle, etc. bolt right up to an FJ60 door, or are they different?

thanks!

Door itself will bolt right up. 100% different on door inner construction and power stuff will not work. Mirror might work if you drill for the harness.

Yeah, I am working on your system!

I do not sell any used parts, try Nolen (The little guy from Texas) or jason @ JK customs

Followup question: Will the electric door and window mechanisms bolt right into an early ('88) FJ62 door without electrics? I have a line on a good early door with manual window and lock..

Ken, the doors Gary has are mine, it's an FJ62 we parted out earlier this year. The doors are in perfect shape! Let him know I told you to call him, give you a good price! :)

Sean,

I have three late 80's FJ60 doors on the Tank. Work just fine. The one rear door did not have a hole for the electrics. Fixed that in short order! And I did need to create a center hole for the electric mirrors. Of course you need to use the 62 harnesses and interiors. Everything just bolted right up.

Exiled, Do you have a right front fender for the 62?
Thanks,
Dunbar

Oh, and death to Bin Laden.

Not anymore, sorry! It was an FJ62 with a mint, completely rust-free body, so the parts went pretty fast.

Will it go the opposite way? 88 fj62 door on a 85 bj60? What about the interior door panels fitting onto the fj62 door? I know there won't be electronics but just wondering if its possible to put the manual windows and locks into an fj62 door and if it will fit.

Thanks

Some fj62’s came with manual windows. 88’s I believe as I have an 88 parts truck with manual windows.

None of the guts are interchangable between the two. The outer doors are the same, but all of the mounting points between them are different. Its odd because just about all of the other toyotas from this time period are identical for teh most part.

On my firstgen 4runner i swapped from manual windows and locks to power by just bolting all the parts in and running wires. You cant do that with a 60 series or 62 series. It doesnt work the other way around either. Cant go from power to manual.

The only way to truly swap from power to manual on the doors is to swap all 4 doors over

Yes, it is all 100% bolt in.

But this is wrong, and it's been well documented on this forum for like two decades now it is a complete bolt-in. I even did it in my own truck in 2014 or 2015 or so

The 62 regulator did not line up with the 60 regulator on mine, unless i have some strange model door, or i got the wrong used window regulator on ebay. This was the first mod i tried to do on my 60 years ago.

Do you know if it's possible to convert an '88, 62 from power windows to manual?
Not 100% sure but I think you can just swap the manual window regulators over.
