The time has come. I finally have a buyer lined up for my truck which means it's time to get serious about finding something.

I'm looking for a FJ60 preferably, but would consider a 62 as well. Looking in the $6000-8000 range for a daily driver with little to no rust. I'm not a purist, so V8', lifts, mods are welcome within reason. Doesn't have to be a beauty queen. I don't mind buying something that needs a little work as long as I can get everything done + purchase of the truck under $8000.

I'm located in San Antonio, TX but I'm willing to travel just about anywhere in the lower 48 or I might consider shipping. I'm not big on the dark brown. White is a little lower on the list as well, but I'm willing to consider it.

I've been checking craigslist nation wide since August. So I don't need any help there. I hope this works out! Can't wait to own another land cruiser. :steer:

I have this one saved. One of a few 62's I actually like on craigslist right now. How long has he had it?
Owner is Scott. Spoke to him at length. Very honest and good guy.

Reasons I won't buy it:
-Even though motor replaced 10K ago, it is burning a lot of oil. per the owner using 10w-30 the first year and it drank about a quart every 500 miles. Using 10w-40 and its better but still at about 750 per quart.

-He converted the A/C, replaced the dryer, recharged it, and it still leaks

-It is running rich, and he thinks that won't pass CA smog.

For me the oil consumption is the main issue, given the engine was replaced. Which means there is some other major issue, I don't want to deal with at that asking price.

Thanks for the info.

I handed the keys and the title of my truck off to a new owner, so now getting serious about finding a vehicle. My wife and I can only share er 4Runner for so long before someone goes insane.

I have a nice '89 FJ62 I'll sell for $9k. I'm in Houston and can meet you half way if you want to see it. Here's a pic when I got it back in May.

I have since put an OME 2.5" lift and 33" BFG A/Ts on it. Shoot me a PM if interested.

I have 2 60's. I will sell one of them. PM me if interested or call me.
Thanks John 717-608-2838

Have a list of people to call and follow up with on some 60's and 62's both from here and on craigslist - hoping to have a deal made by the end of the week. Last call for more cruisers!

Here is Big Blue, located in Atlanta. 84 FJ60 with ZERO rust and original awesome graphics.

In conversation with a few people, but I haven't made anything final. Still looking for other possibilities. The closer the better. Anything out of state is going to cost me additional $ to either ship or fly out and pick it up. Still willing to do that, but the price needs to be right.

Also, is anybody familiar with Cali Auto Brokers?

After 3 months of searching, I finally pulled the trigger on an FJ60. Meet Shirley!

260,000 miles but only 60k on a brand new 2f that was installed in 2005 along with an h55f 5 speed tranny. She's not perfect, but I'm very excited to be back in a cruiser and to start building once some funds come back.
