We've all seen it on ebay, the 60s & 62s which, from the posted pics, apparently left Arakawa Bankin Kogyo KK body works without anything behind the front door.

Can anyone provide an accepted IH8MUD definition of the term: surface rust?

After some additional trips around my oldest 88 FJ62's cratered surface, I want to accurately reflect what rust it has in my ebay ad.

First the typical presentation = Look bidder I washed the front end of my Cruiser! followed by it has 2 doors on the passenger side! And of course, the illusive admittance of it has some surface rust.

Yes, it has 4 doors on both sides!

First a repost w/tweaks to let the "surface rust" be evident & then more panoramic views of the FJ's surface as seen by body shop estimator who heard you say, I wish Aqualu made an FJ60 . . . .

TRUSTworthy terms for RUST?

I would like to use the term surface rust on what I perceive as the condition of the frame in the back end: rust which can be removed with a wire brush to clean metal.

I would not feel bad saying surface rust on the frame. But I would not say the rest of the tub was surface only.. There are some pretty bad parts of that rig from the pics.

Even on the frame, it is starting to seperate on the rear half near the spare tire.
