Okay, I posted up looking for a diesel but have decided that I want to do a swap myself so I need to find a Cruiser. Leaving the Rover world for greener pastures I guess...

Want to buy:
- FJ55 or FJ60 (would prefer the 60 as Im not really a fan of the square lamps and I like a manual transmission)
- Preferably somewhere around Va with a SOLID body. I would like to have something as rust free as possible and am willing to pay a little more for it.
- If it runs well enough to get home, thats nice. If not, I have a truck and can get a trailer easy enough.

So, what do you have or know of?

I know both of those guys in VT. The $4K primer gray truck I've seen in person. Gary's which is the $7k green truck I have not seen but have heard about from gary for years. Both are super honest guys.

If you want a 55 project, either one of these would be phenomenal.

55 series have ROUND head lamps- the signals are rectangular. Neither the 55 or 60 came factory w/ an auto trans.....55 will be harder to find in less rusty condition. 60s are fairly easy to find in decent condition. If major work like suspension hanger relocation is not for you, maybe you should lean toward a 60.

I know, hence:

Major work like relocation of spring hangers isnt that bad but I have to have a reference point. If someone has already ground the frame and rewelded hangers on and done it in the wrong place, thats a project I want to avoid.

I know rust free 55's are harder to find which is why I am also open to 60's. The 60 is easier to find in good condition and I am definitely open to them too.

If the spring hangers are holding you up on Mr. Fletchers rig, they are only tack welded on. A few things need redone like the spring hangers but it is a great project at a smoking price.

Several people from the East coast are coming to the King of the Hammers event next month so finding a ride back east may not be a big issue.
