FJ55 Opinions, 1F or 2F ?

Any thoughts or opinions (preferences) with regards to the '74 and earlier cruiser -vs- '75 and later model? 1F or 2F? Actively looking for a'75 and earlier. I am not interested in dealing with California SMOG issues! I originally posted this in the wrong forum (classified). Any info is appreciated.

I have a 73 and It actually has the pre 68 really early f in it. And it does just fine. I yanked all the smog stuff out of it right away. Not that they care in SC anyway. Any pig is a good pig as far as I'm concerned though. Good luck.

I've got a '78 2F in my '69 FJ55 and love it. It's a pretty strong 2F. Now that I know better, I would go with a '70 or later tub because it is already configured for a brake booster. Then it's a little easier to put in discs all around. Put the 4 Speed tranny, early t-case in it and was happy. Last year I squeezed a 4.70 ToyBox in between and love it.
