Is there anyone in the San Antonio area that has a truck and trailer that would be willing to haul my 55 up to Wimberly 4x4?

I need to have the steering box pulled, rebuilt and a hydro assist installed, my birfields are clicking, I need to have an emergency brake installed and my passenger door stopped opening from the outside.

I assume that Wimberly's is the best place in the area to have the work done?

I am not sure what the going rate is to haul a rig, but was kind of thinking $100-150? But I am flexible. I live in San Antonio over by Sea World, next to the golf course.

If you have any recommendations for places closer to do the work please let me know.

Thanks!
Ryan

Not sure of a place closer however I have two thoughts. Of course, there is always someone right?

Anyway, unless you do not have a truck etc, I would find a trailer to rent (uhaul) to haul the 55. It would be cheaper on the wallet imho.

Also, you may want to check with Daniel at wimberly to see if he will do a hydro assist on your rig. He is a little picky about doing certain mods on vehicles.

Yeah I kind of got the feeling that he doesn't like going to far outside the box with what he does to Land Cruisers and I have a feeling my truck won't be a favorite of his.... Like I said if anyone has any ideas for other places that have both early and late model Land Cruiser experience then please let me know.

I actually just traded my truck off on a sports car --- ya I know dumb idea, so I am now truckless and hoping to get my 55 running well enough to be my "truck"

Thanks for the ideas!

I wouldn't give Wimberly 4x4 any my business ever. That guy has issues. He rebuilds and sells rusty bondo covered junk and I believe his mechanical skills, I mean habits, are worse. Land cruisers are easy to work on I'm sure you could find somebody else to do this work. I know this might not be helpful but I just cant stand hearing about somebody taking their rigs to him. Do what you want but just beware.

I've got a few ideas on where you can take it here in north central San Antonio. Are you looking to get the work done soon?
