been reading and looking at pics of 63 fj45swb trucks and can't seem to find a diffenitive answer or pics...what is the stock configuration of the rear of this truck tailights in particular....pics would be nice or a link so i could go look...thanks in advance

thanks for the pics....now i notice neither of your trucks have the split window...would the split window option change the configuration of the rear bumper and taillights?...would a 63 be that different from a 65?...did all fj45swb trucks have a spare tire carrier...saw that in a dealer brochure....again, thanks for the help

First off, I don't have an answer to your question. There are some guys on here that will. If you look at www.fj45.com you might see what your looking for.

From all the pictures I've seen of FJ45's the only ones that have pick up beds are the ones in the US. If you see pics from other countries they most all have a utility flat bed. I don't know why, just an observation on my part.

Split-window signifies the non-removable top SWB version, I don't belive it makes any difference on the taillights.

thanks tucker...the 45 i bought and the one on the ebay link are similar as far as rear window/taillight configuration....the ones shown in this post have tailights in the sheetmetal...the one in the link has the bumper mounted like a 40....i am just trying to get my details straight

My 64 w/split window came with the same as you first picture. I believe they are aftermarket trailer lights. If you look at the ends of you frame you'll probably see two holes- one above the other- where the brackets for you tailights(?) mount. I ordered the stock lights from SOR (say expensive) but couldn't find brackets anywhere- even searched Canada- and finally just fabricated my own out of an old computer case I found. Saw some LED one on www.joetlc.com the other day. Might work for you if you aren't looking to restore yours.;p ;p PS I'm told my vin # is actually a 63 but was first sold in 64.

BTW mine also has the spare tire carrier mounted on the passenger side.

it's an old school conferr bumper i believe...and yes, it's stout. also, a p.o. reinforced it with 1/4" angle iron. it's growing on me, so i'll keep it.

as for the lights, non removeable vs. removeable shouldn't make any difference

I ordered the stock lights from SOR (say expensive) .

fwiw, you don't have to order the fj45 lights. i ordered the fj40 lights, which were a bit cheaper at the time, and they fit just fine in the brackets.

your link didn't work. are you looking at long wheelbase vs. short wheelbase? long wheelbase has rectangular mounted in at the bottom of the bed, where as short wheelbase is what's above.

sorry for the bad link....beige colored short wheel base on ebay...split window equals non-removable top....no taillights in the sheetmetal of the bed on any of the fj45swb non removable i have seen yet....i would really like to see the factory set up....bumperettes on all models?...thanks nuclearlemon!

My 64 swb non-removable top had the 40 style lights mounted to the frame. I had a 66 and currently a 65, both swb removeable top that had the body mounted taillights. Just my .02
