i just got 65 fj45 wagon i inherieded
shes rough but i am starting to work on her
i need a windshild and a floor pan anyone know where to get em?

Slow down there Tex. Welcome to MUD! :flipoff2:

Pictures. Pretty much the law. We really, really like to see cruisers, even if we could walk outside and see a cruiser (or two).

Most of the body parts forward of the back of the doors are common to FJ-40s, and the windshield is included in that. I'm sure that there are plenty of sources for FJ-40 windshields, but I'm not positive about that early of a truck. You could start with Spector Off Road. They almost certainly have something, but it's probably spendy.

Floor pans leaves a lot of questions. You can go so far as to buy a complete tub if you wanted, or you could weld in flat plate instead of the ribbed floor you've got now. Here's one of those times that pictures would tell a lot.

Mechanical stuff is almost all the same as the FJ-40, but you've got a pretty early truck. Two great resources in general would be Mark's Off Road (he's on MUD), and Cruiser Outfitters (Kurt is also on MUD). Neither are hard to find, and both are a wealth of information.

That said, my first stop for just about any part is Toyota. I use CDan or Cbeno at American Toyota (search for CDan to learn more). You'd be surprised how many parts are still available new from Toyota.

Did I mention we'd like pictures? :D

If this is a LV wagon then only the hood/fenders/aprons/bib will be the same as a FJ40 or at least close enough to use FJ40 parts. No bumper or windshield hold downs on a LV. Cowl and windshield are not the same. For floor your best bet is probably Paul in Costa Rica, "lomusass" here on Mud.

As far as the windshield goes, I believe SOR is the ONLY source for that. LandcruiserJunky cut templates off of both different types of windshield glass that Marv gave him and has cut all the glass for SOR since. He does good work.;)

On the floorpans, the last I remember treerootco worked out a deal with lomass to bring in some repro ones of those, but they were in the 1k price range. Pricey, but not a lot of other options.

Cool rig! It's really, really cool that it was your Dad's.

That is indeed an FJ-45LV. Mark is right on about the floors, and now that he mentions it, I do remember that about the windshields...

Speaking of Landcruiserjunky: are you planning on upgrading to dual circuit brakes? You don't want your LV to end up like his did. Yours is pretty nice, really, and being that you inherited it from your Dad it's a tad on the priceless side...

It looks like you're in MT (well, the plates do, the rain in the pics sure don't). There is an EXCELLENT source of parts/knowledge in Helena if you need to know more about the early trucks. I wish I knew more about them, they are just so much cooler!

Nice looking truck and welcome :flipoff2:

Look in the stickys at the top of this section. Buckrouseau has rebuilt one of these and ran into lots of rust. He either sourced or built all the pieces he needed.

Keep us updated. We hate to be left hanging.

Looking at post 32 from last year it says he is sold out. I remember reading this last year which was why I didn't mention treerootco

Too bad. I guessing the 1K price will go up quite a bit if he has to ship from Costa Rica. The crate and shipping on a FJ45LP-B tailgate is going to be close to $400. I know Paul is trying to work a deal on a group buy now on FJ40 tubs. Might want to try and contact him.

I have a 66 FJ45LV that I am in the process of restoring. These things were made by two different companies. The first company, made most things by hand so they truly are one of a kinds. Some things you will be able to source but most are just going to have to be built by a fab shop. I have a lot of specs (measurements, dimensions, etc) if you need them. Good luck. PS. don't crack the rear tail light lenses. They are custom made now for $250/pair.

That's a cool looking Truck!

Nice body shape and i like that shade of green on it with the white roof.
You going to keep it the same colors?

Welcome to IH8MUD.

well i was luck cause it came with a pair of tail lights in it and mine were cracked.
and ideas on where i can find wheel cylinders for the rear?
ya my dad picked the colors so i wana keep them the same for him
