Are you looking to do disc brakes on the front only, or all four wheels?
The front disc swap is pretty simple - take a look in the FAQ section of the main 40/55 section, or do a search on that forum and you'll find plenty of threads.
Just did both power steering and front disk brake conversion on 1966 FJ 45 ( had original drum brakes) using JT Outfitters :
MINI TRUCK conversion for power steering NOT RECOMMENDED ( turns out to be a reman GM power steering boc, english vs metric bolts, minimal install instructions, wrong width pulley (9mm vs 17mm as it should be, " let the buyer beware" customer service response RE mismatched pulley, etc, etc , blah , blah)
Also used JT OUTFITTERS front disk conversion kit NOT RECOMMENDED ( turns out to be remanufactured 198? Eldorado front disk calipers...vague about source so good luck finding replacement parts. Also had to seriuously machine calipers to get to fit AND, non metric rubber hoses.....cant find stainless hoses to fit this x#%^? System.
Also in this conversion to front disk brakes: added 1976 FJ power brake booster and dual circuit master cylinder and rear circuit proportioning valve.....and , out of necessity, changed entire brake line system from the 9mm fittings used in 1976 to 10 mm fittings used in 1976 ( and forever after).
SO.....NOT FOR THE. FAINT OF HEART! And would recommend:
POWER STEERING: pick an alternate vs Mini Truck conversion from FAQ discussion....Im doing a Saginaw conversion on my 2nd 1966 FJ45 conversion
DISK BRAKES: unsure what to recommend. Probably later model Toyota conversion ( lesson learned: stay away from GM substitutes and stick to TOYOTA )
