I am not saying I have anything, but I do need a picture, as it might be laying around the basement. Don't get you hopes up, as I very seldom have anything that anyone needs.

View attachment 1194289 Here is a picture of the one I have. A little different. This one may be from a '68 year model, as I got a box of parts from someone with that year FJ40

that looks like a 60 crossmember, the threads are in different places between the 40 and 60.

Roma, what is your budget?
Paul

Coin that one looks so close anyone know for sure it's from a 60?

60 have the threads in the 2 L brackets, bolts go down
40 has the threads in the crossmember, bolts go up

I posted pics somewhere a month ago about this subject. found the thread, post #8

Well the good lord gave you 2 of em for a reason:hillbilly:

Timeframe no go for me as i won't have my swap done by then.
Sorry, good luck!

If the size works and all you need to do is weld on some nuts, then find out if it measures right, pay freight and it will come your way. I can take measurements, or someone might know if the lengths are the same on 40's and 60's.

The L brackets are different between some 4X series models. I have a 82 FJ40 set for one of my projects as well as 84 HJ47 set for my FJ45 project. A third I'm not sure what it's from. The center section appears to be the same on all three. The L brackets are what are different.

@roma042987 @3_puppies

Does anyone have pictures of the holes on the frame that accept 40 cross member.

I'm putting it on a 71 FJ40 with a 5 speed and splitcase and trying to understand how high to mount the side rails. It seems like a narrow window so that the lower holes don't end up at the radius at the base of the frame rail.

Thanks
Ernie

And yes some will say I should cur the torque tube back For maintenance, but I don't have the heart too.

I have pictures of that in the 75 build thread in my signature. Bare in mind the 79+ fj40 had significantly more trans to tunnel clearance so even with the correct top cover significant modification will need to be done to the tunnel cover.
