I am looking for an exhaust manifold heat shield like the one pictured. Thanks.

They varied in size and shape throughout the years. I could sell you one that is all metal like the one in your pic, but it has only limited applications.

I will give you a call later today. Thanks

I thought I left a message for you on your machine yesterday, but I may have messed it up. The all metal would be fine for me. If you will post up a pic and what you are asking I am sure we can get a deal done. Thanks.

Hey MUD community, can someone educate me what year did heat shields start to appear in the 40's?

74 Cali-spec, 75 everywhere.

Ok. My cruiser is 2/79 Federal spec 40 series. The one I’m looking for may be smaller but my original is gone. I also have the 3 piece manifold.View attachment 3325055
There are several hundred people on this forum looking for the same one as what the microfiche indicates for yours. It’s a very rare part.
The one that I have is most likely for the 75-6 vintage. I don’t know if it can be made to work; I just know it’s more durable. Hth

Yep. I found a pic of my original made from cloth asbestos fiber. Also, the replacement version in steel. See below. If there was a way to verify that at least the 3 piece manifold horn would fit the curve of your 75-6 cali version. That would be a start. Then modifying the other bolt hole location.

Is this front manifold insulator still available?
