Hi, I need a pair of original Koito head lights for a 1980 BJ40, new or used but in good working condition. Please let me know. Thanks!

Whats a used set of these worth? Ive seen them sell before for the resto crowd but can't find the thread on mud. i may part with a set.

I was looking for the head lamp retainer rings today to install some TruckLite LED's and found these in the box with them:

Proof of life via 9v battery connected to high and low beam circuits for both head lamps. I gave a brief description of how I bench tested these in the video description:

I wanted to make sure these were functioning and found some useful suggestions regarding bench testing them.

With these head lamps, once the vacuum is compromised the filaments will oxidize and quickly burn out. To preserve the vacuum seal, the original silicone may need a fresh coating around the base of the 3 prong connectors. Before testing, gently clean the head lamp with soapy water, rinse and allow to dry. Next, applying a coat of RTV silicone around the connector bases and allow the silicone to dry. Now we're ready to test these out.

First, identify which of the three prong connectors is the ground. This connector will be connected to both the high and low beam filaments and is visible through the lens. The other two connectors are specific to the high and low beam and will be connected to the positive of the 9 volt battery. Using the ground connector and the negative of the 9 volt battery, close the circuit by connecting the positive post of the 9 volt battery to either the high or low beam connectors. You'll see a dim orange glow if the filaments are still in tact.

Hi Rob, unfortunately one of the lamps arrived broken. Is there any chances you have another one in like new condition like those two you sent me? Thanks!

I shipped these to a Florida address. These were forwarded to Costa Rica by what service? That’s NOT the way I shipped those lights. Where’s the original packaging? Each lamp was wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap & placed in individual boxes, then both were boxed in a larger box w/an excess of packaging peanuts.

I don`t know man, that`s the picture they sent me when ítem arrived to my mailbox in Miami (I use Jetbox company), I haven`t received them here in Costa Rica, they just contacted me and asked me if I want them in that condition, I just told them to send the complete package because the other lamp is intact.

Someone removed them from the original packaging. I used the two boxes my Trucklite headlamps came in with an abundance of bubble wrapped. I didn’t use any USPS packaging at all. So, it’s odd to see them in the photo you provided. I also used pink packaging peanuts for the boxes the headlamps were packaged within.

Does JETbox normally open your mail and repackage it? Probably would have been better off sending directly to your Costa Rica address.

Bad luck for me, but I'm still happy with this transaction, you are a great seller and at least I have one headlamp in perfect condition. They will hear from me as soon as the package is here, because it`s not the first damaged package I receive. Thanks Rob!

Yes, they have to check it and look for an invoice and make a description of the package before they send it to Costa Rica. I`m 99.9% sure they dropped the headlamp when was checking the content.
