FJ40 Hood Channel Repair

Hi guys, have not been able to find any info on the site regarding hood channel re-attachment. My current thrashed hood and the clean replacement I have need the underside channel reattached. It looks like some type of epoxy was used originally? Anyone have suggestions on what to keep it attached to the sheet metal?

3M makes a flexible adhesive of some type for that purpose. The name escapes me at the moment. It needs to be flexible so that the metal doesn't dent when you slam he hood shut.

My body shop friend says the 3M part number is 4274.
