I have a '71 FJ40. Of course with drum brakes. I have grease leaking in the front passanger side drum. I know the brakes have to br redone. I found a '76 FJ55 with disc brakes. It runs and almost everything works. The guy wants $600 for it. I am looking for information to see if the front end will fit with some ease. What else will I need?

the axle will bolt up to the leafs ...
the brake line (frame to axle)might come down to the axle on the wrong side
the tie rod should hook up?
and the drive shaft would probably need to be mixed matched 4spd + 3spd
and your wheels will definatley go on

If you have both cruisers it shouldnt be too hard

oh yeah you might want to switch the brake booster for the disc brake one

if you had a 55 for 600 beans (thats 1500 canadian)lol is it in the driveway yet?

piece of cake....

swap pinion flanges so your driveshaft bolts up.
yes, the brake hard line comes down the opposite side of the firewall
remove the residual valve in the front system in the master cylinder
tie rods identical

drive. :D
