funny you should ask........

georg, will this work for an FJ60 with smog pump?

Jeremiah

i've received a few emails and pms about running the sag pump on a 60. i'm actually in the process of setting up a mock-up engine so i can modify the bracketry to work in a 60. it's gonna be tight but i should be able to make it work.
plan on going to work tomorrow to get the engine mocked up will all the 60 series accs and then i can start messing with it.

however, i have a ton of work at the shop that has to stay on schedule so please don't ask me on monday how it turned out. i will post up when i have a working prototype.

thanks a bunch!!!!

Hey Georg,

How'd it turn out? :D JK. I know you are busy but was wondering if during your mock up if you could see if it would work for a 60 sans smog/ idler? Maybe re-route belts but keep the other accessories? Maybe a bit much to ask but I am about ready yard out the smog pump and equip and would really like a sag pump in there!

Or possibly a "cost effective" pulley in the pumps place?

Clint

well, i got the mock-up engine out of the donor truck so i can start tinkering with it later this week.

that's all for now. we'll see what i can do about setting it up for no smog pump.

thanks for all the orders guys!!!!!

a few updates:

1) slight price increase on the minitruck pedestal box mounts due to higher production costs. the 8 holes in the 1/2" backets are now CNC drilled for percise parts fit ( i had no issues with the hand drilled version but the cnc process is a lot cleaner and hard to beat for precision )

2) finishing the prototype for late fj40/45 and any year fj60 saginaw pump mounts, have one on the mock-up engine in the shop as i type this......to be released soon.

3) started working on producing a sag pump ps pump mount kit for the 3fe as well for all the fj62 and early fj80 owners out there.

thanks again!!!!

Youbet, I have plenty in stock and ready to ship

I lost the reply I got about the bill dorry bracket. I have a stock 78 FJ40 to do a FJ60 power steering conversion on. What parts and prices do you have available?

Good afternoon Georg I hope life is treating you well. I went to install my awesome PS bracket this past weekend only to find out the exisiting Sag pump I have on there won't work with it :whoops: I don't have a stud on the back that'll work with the bracket. I came back to this thread to see if someone mentioned what year vehicle one might find the kind of pump that'll work with this bracket but don't see anything here. Figured I'd add a post instead of shooting you a PM to save the next guy looking for it. Thanks

If you plan to use the fj60 ps box the you can also use the matching fj60 ps pump and bracketry. However, the sag pump will give you noticeably more power.

Do you have a pic of the pump you mentioned? If it doesn't have a stud then it should have a bolt. Remove it and replace it with a stud. I have a few extras if you need one.

Will these work with a 74 FJ55? I have a 85 2F with the powersteering pump ready to go in.
Thanks

The ps pump bracket kit will work for your application. I do not offer and ps box mounting kits for the fj55s. Ipor makes a nice mount for the sag box.

Let us know when you make the bracket for the 2F (or have you already, I'm obviously somewhat confused). Mine is an 85 FJ60 with the stock powerplant, and a 'needs fluid every three days' power steering pump. I'd like to replace with the sag (already in hand), but don't have the means to fab a bracket myself.

Thanks for the post and I'll definetly let you know. Right now there are two items holding me up. First one is that I just don't have enough time to devote to customers vehicles at the shop and to prototype work. I have to keep things in order to avoid falling behind. Not easy at times. Second issue is the fact that I'd like to be able to offer not just the brackets but a complete kit as well. I've been investing quite a bit of time into finding all the parts at a reasonable price. The fittings got the high pressure hose have been challenging but I think I have that taken care of now as well.

I do have one working prototype racking up miles everyday. So far do good. I'll let you guys know as things progress.

Thanjs again for the support, I appreciate it!!!

Wow, quick response.

No problem on the wait. Good luck with everything, glad to hear that you're busy.

Hey Georg,
What year pump/ pulley did you use on the 77 to align with the inner crank pulley? I am working on the Frankenstein 40 which had the head bolt mount and the alignment is way off (even with spacers) whichever way I flip the pulley. The pulley I've got looks like this. The crank and water pump have the narrow inner groove and the wide outer groove so I can run a narrow saginaw pulley on the inner groove. how's that for long winded?

David

ps. The pump I've got has a 3/4" non-keyed shaft for a press on pulley.
