I forgot to mention this at the meeting but I plan on driving this thing down the Skyline Drive on Sunday October 30th unless that date slips. I'll be driving the 40 so it'll be slow going but I think the speed limit is only 35 anyway. Hopefully by then there will be some pretty nice Fall foliage up there so should be a nice Sunday drive. I'll definitely stop a few times to take some pics. Plan is to hand the baton off in the Charlottesville area then head home up 29 which is also not a bad drive. Let me know if anyone is interested and you don't have to drive a 40 roll with.

Nah. Can't make it this year. Wife had our 4th child 4 weeks ago so it'd be tough sledding convincing her I need to go. This would just be a day trip and I'll take one of the kids with me so it's more palatable.
 
Anyone have a good idea for the baton hand off and photo op? I doubt we'll be able to do it down town.

The hand off is this Sunday. Does anyone have a CLCC sticker I can get to slap on there?
 
Is the next guy going to continue down the parkway? If so, you might consider one of the overlooks. The fall leaves are really coming in.
 
I don't think so. I think it's heading down towards Charleston, SC. I plan on making several stops along the way for photo ops.
 
We've landed on the Marine Corps War Memorial for our baton exchange and photo op. If anyone is interested in coming over and getting in the pic we're planning on meeting at the Italian Store around noon to get a bite then heading over to take the pic after.
