Reaching out for some assistance. I purchased OE sliding windows from FJ40GURU and seals from City Racer, I also read the 1980 chassis manual and I am stuck on how the outer weatherstrip is adhered and where. I believe the way it was written the outer weatherstrip remains in place. In my case I am starting from scratch. Do I need to use the adhesive tape that is used to attach the window to the body for the weatherstrip or is it a dry fit.
12-75 lists to used adhesive tape (fig 12-160) and install the window frame (fig 2-161), the next two instructions are how to attach the frame.
So, do I add the weatherstrip before installing the window frame or afterward. And does the weatherstrip require adhesive tape?
