1960 FJ25 I had this brought to my attention today.

Told it is a 1960, no engine, trans or t-case and who knows what else.

Not that I would buy it, but I just might to stuff away for a later date.

Rip it apart please.

Best,

Shane Walters

on the positive side the body looks to be in great shape, its got the original seats, front bumber and rear light brackets.

things outside of the drivetrain, that your already aware of, that I've found to be hard to come by would include;

signal flasher, spare tire carrier, liscense bracket and lamp, pintle hook & trailer plug,
rear emblem, steering wheel, rims & hubcaps,
soft top bows and doors

please let me know if the purchase doesn't work out for you I'd like to find out if the owner might consider selling the bumper or perhaps I'd buy the whole rig:hhmm:

I must be off my meds, gotto go check

thanks, Sean

Sean...I may need those seats, so keep me in mind if you can't find your meds in time :)

Seriously...Shane, didn't you always want a 25? I'm sure a drive train won't be that hard to put together...she looks a lot better than the one I hope to see in my yard this fall !!!

Sean already has an FJ25.

Things missing back seats and a gas tank. Has the vacuum wiper but no arms. I'm sure there's more.

Someone should buy it. It always takes more than one FJ25 to make a complete one. I could make maybe two out of the four I have. Should build the two and sell the rest for scrap metal. That way I would help drive the prices even higher:rolleyes:

Yes, Sean has a really, really nice 25...but I was wondering if Shane had one.

John, you couldn't send that stuff to scrap-metal...your a real good guy  ...and you know that someone will eventually buy this stuff off you when your ready.

Opps:o I guess I should put my glasses on. Too be honest I just checked and posted on this tread quickly before I left work for the day.:whoops:

Everybody knows I was just kidding about scrap metal. Everbody know these are worth their weight in gold already:lol:

just trying to follow along with the rest of the group.:D

It's really what you need to do. Besides getting more parts you want it helps to have some trading stock to get parts you still need. You don't think I ever planned on restoring four FJ25s.

I'm onto you guys;), its not what you have but how much time you've invested/wasted on the cause:D.

I may be patting my own back, but I'd say I'm well on my own way with 5 cruisers and only 2yrs in:beer:, oh yah, and only 1 of them actually runs at about 40k's later:eek:

that reminds me gotta follow through on checking my meds:hhmm:

p.s. Dean, do you ever sleep? every time I sign in your on:rolleyes:

I would say buy and hold if you have good storage and "extra" money. Decide later what you want to do with it. Another rig will probably come along in a bit...

Oh yeah, there may have been a drive line swap in the past by the looks of the trans hump (cut hole, covered p-brake opening), so check motor mounts and frame cross member...

Now I know why I'll never get around to really starting on my projects. I can't afford it. So was this going back to stock? Counting on stock to be a lot cheaper since I already have most the parts for my FJ25/FJ40/FJ45 projects. Of course if I end up having to buy my canvas replacements for my 25 and 40 from Badger it's going to put that plan in the dumpster.:frown:

You do know at 32 acres you have an unfair advantage. Plenty of places to hide them without the better half finding them.

Sleep...what's that!!!

Actually I work mainly out of my home office. I like to start early (sometimes around 4 am), and finish late...most peaceful when working alone with no phones going off...even my dogs leave me alone at these times...well mostly

Also, to be fair, lately I've been checking my PM's more often as I am trying to get my new old corrugated top home...met some pretty decent people in the north east, which may be able to help out...if each does one leg of the trip, the top should be home soon!!!

Besides, why you asking...you take your meds yet? My wife asking questions? I'm telling her that it's you guys getting me in trouble

Sorry Shane...hi-jack over

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide Track! :D And a doorstrap clip too! :p

Shane, really depends on what you plan to do with it. Full on restoration would be tough, you're going to need another donor. But youv'e got some of the rare bits like the vacuum wipers for a start. But no wheels and drivetrain are going to be a pain, same with the fuel tank and gas cap. Amazing that something like that front bumper is still there just tossed in the back .

As a resto-mod it would be great, less stuff to swap out. :D

Either way, if the price is reasonable, snap it up, looks pretty clean. Never know when another one with the right bits may pop up. Besides, we need some more new blood in the 25 section........... :D

Curious what the VIN is???
