No, just expanding the phone/interweb thing out to mancamp. The big deal is this:
Oh, that is very nice indeed![]()
Do you still have the old Cub? ...you did have a Cub...or am I mistaken?
Knowing Phil he probably hoarding
I understand our moderator has very limited internet access right now. Do you think this would be a good time to start a thread on my new 1970 FJ40 I'm working at bring back to stock?
Thought?
I'm not hoarding, I am simply the Northern Rockies Central Clearing House for parts, nearing the grand opening date.
Do a side by side comparo/resto with the 40 and a 25. I have wanted to sneak the patrol in this way, A side by side road test, maintenance kind of thing with a 50 year perspective.

Ha, ya I figured as much. Too bad the PO also re-tapped the hole in the bellhousing for a 1/2" bolt. The stock bolts for the trans to bellhousing are some weird size like an M13x1.5? I dont have a tap or thread chaser that size in any of my kits.
I got the drive shafts, e-brake, and shift levers back on. The clutch seems to engage ok, but I'm going to do the adjustment procedure from the fj25 CD. I got the drivers seat in so I could work the clutch pedal and it feels smoother than before. So then, I hit the brake pedal and in true FJ25 finicky fashion, it goes to the floor. I check the reservoir and its dry. I think the rebuild on the wheel cylinders didnt take. There were no puddles on the floor but there is evidence of a leak on the inside of two of the tires.
Update: New wheel cylinders all the way around. All back together and driving well. I'd really like to get some more of the slop out of the steering. Maybe this winters project.
Fall Gathering here I come!
Care to share the artwork for the poster board? I always wanted one for when I go to shows.
That is one sexy 25, where'd you find it?
Glad to see the family enjoying that rig. Now you better get some correct hubcaps, before we tip off the next show. ;p

I'm thinking the correct wheels too. Just trying to figure out what I could get in exchange for a a set. Nice 2H maybe a H55F out of a HJ47.![]()
I'm sure I could find you a nice 2F or even a dodgy one. There would be way more of them lying around than the correct wheels over here.
Cheers Dobster
2F isn't really high on my list. Have to many old cruisers that should have F engines running 2Fs. Funny all these 2Fs are 75/76 (early 2F) and run great. FJ25 wheels are probably rarer over there than a good six cylinder Toyota diesel is here. But still not that common.
