Posted up some cool shots of the FJ Cruiser wheeling at Cruise Moab 2006! Click below for the photos. The Revtek and Toyota Trail Team rigs were awesome, simply killer, off-road. Up Hell's Gate, I rode with Chris Nelson (Central team leader) and it went right up--and that ascent is SCARY. A-TRAC is pretty damn amazing.

We set up an exclusive photo shoot with the Trail Teams and Revtek on a Lion's Back assault. Ralph Carter, owner of Revtek, had never done Lion's Back before, but he went right at it. Very cool. Also wheeled with them on Golden Spike and Poison Spider. Photos at link below, and all the unseen ones in an upcoming issue.

Really cool. I was there a few weeks ago but had to settle for a rented Rubicon. How many modifications were made to these FJCs? I am guessing a 3" lift, some TA radials and aftermarket Bumper/Winch combos? Anyhing else?

And, was the A-Trac the tool of choice, or did the Locker come in to play much? I have the Locker but I do not have A-trac now, but will add the switch as descibed in other threads here. Do you feel the FJs could have made some of those climbs without A-Trac?

Sorry for so many questions, but I am going to Moab again soon and want to know what I need to get done to my FJC to get it as rock ready as the ones in your photos.

Thanks.

No problem. The Toyota Trail Team FJCs had no lift, original height, but had ARB bumpers and either Superwinches or Warns. They also had tires with a more aggresive tread.

The black and yellow Revtek machines had the Revtek 3" lift, LandcruiserNW.com bumper (yellow) ARB bumper (black), Warn winches, Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires, and beadlock wheels.

The used A-TRAC almost exclusively! Rear locker very very rarely. A-TRAC really kicks ass. I've said it before and again now, it gets the job done. No, without A-TRAC it would not have made some of the ledges and climbs. No way.

If you can get rock sliders on your FJC before you go. Whether OEM Toyota or aftermarket like Trail-Gear, Bentup.com or others. A winch is always a good idea no matter where you wheel, for that you'll need a bumper.

Happy wheelin!

Lucky you! Snap some hi-res photos of the action and send a few to me!

Likewise, great wheeling with you! I'm still amped from Cruise Moab!

ehm I believe... someone asked them to make a custom fitted bumper for the FJ (Revtek perhaps?) and they came up with that... they got such a good response that they brought the FJ back took measurements to mass produce it. I heard it should be available for the public in 4 weeks or so.

I hear people talk of ROCK SLIDERS on here a bit. Are those the same as the ROCK RAILS I ordered with my FJ?

Thanks
