I had a question regarding the fitment of fj cruiser parts in an fj. The parts are bilstein trail teams suspension out of a 2012 fj cruiser. I acquired these parts to do a conversion on my gx. I thought I heard the rear shocks fr a newer fj will not fit a gx without modification.

Also anybody with experience with the bilstein trail team setup as to how it will ride is appreciated.

It is easy to check the rear shocks for fitment - pull the tire, undo the sensor at the top, remove the mounting bolts, done.

I have 2010 FJC TT rear springs on my GX with Radflo 2.5's and Radflo coilovers up front (600 lb springs). The rear is definitely the weak link as far as ride quality, And there's maybe 2" of travel until the axle is into the bumpstops.......... Any appreciable load in the rear and I hit the bumpstops often. May ride better w/ the FJC all around, dunno.

That's interesting I thought the fj was up posed to have fairly stiff rear springs, what bump stops are you running?

Good to hear the shocks from a 2010 fit the rear, I got a good deal on the package as a takeoff and was gonna use everything but retain the gx's front springs. I want as stock a ride as possible it's the wife's dd

I have the stock frame-mounted bumpstops, and the coil spring isolators inside the coils. The frame mounted bumpstop is the one with maybe 2".

I have no idea if the shocks from an '10 fit, sorry if I wasn't clear. I just used the FJC TT rear coils, with Radflo rear shocks.

I bet your front springs are very sagged, but then again I have no idea what spring rate the FJC front coils are, they may or may be suited for the V8.

I need to get some FJ bump stops as well. It does cause a ride quality issue for sure, I am just too busy to get it done.

I know this is kinda old and I'm digging here, but a 2012 FJC is a 150 based truck. The FJC is kinda a bastard truck as its was originally built on the 120 chassis, and then at some point(I forget right now, I think 2010) changed over to the 150 platform, so things are a little different. There is not much different, but enough that it's not a direct fit/bolt in and go. It does require some slight alterations/modifications to work but it will work. Just don't expect it to be a simple install.
