not sure where you got your info but the mini's don't average 95 mph off road. the class ! rigs and unlimiteds barely pull that off.

I was thinking an air leak behind the MAF (when I saw the show). I know that if you get air coming after the MAF you get poor or non existing running conditions.

Finally caught the show Sat., I think my wife was more into it than I. Thanks all for a great show............:)

I just read it in the article posted above their average speed was 95 mph.

Team Necessary technically got a DNF - they limped across like 4 hours after the deadline. Was it only the two FJ Cruisers?

Better luck next time. Why are they not at Dakar????????????????????????

Actually the average speed was some where in the 35-40 mile an hour range. There were very short stints where our drivers hit any where close to 95.
If we averaged 95 we would have won the race over all. That wont be happening in the stock mini class anytime soon. Must have been a typo.

Dakar is next;) Stay tuned:D

Whoa! slow down Cowboy,
95MPH WTF!!! as a long time off road racer I can tell you with confidence there has NEVER been a car/buggy/truggy/motorcycle that has had an averge speed even close to 95 MPH. The very fastest cars & bikes are in the high 60MPH range for average speed. the stock classes rearly break out of a 40MPH average speed. There must of been a typo in the article you are refering to.

Dynosoar :zilla:

Just FYI, World Rally Cars rules enforce a 120kph average limits, any stage with at least one competitor averaging 75 MPH will cause the stage to be cancelled and all following cars will go throught the stage at transport speed, or within limits set by the local law.
But sure they hit 120 mph every now and then in a stage. But 95 MPH is really really fast, i don't know of any motorsports running on loose gravel with such a average speed. Well excluding oval racing! And even tho, i'm no sprint car fan but do they go that fast? maybe

well, they were 200 miles from the finish when the time deadline expired. they drove the rest of the way on the highway so they would have finished way more then 4 hours late had they stayed on the course.
