what was the guys name that we met at the FJ event with teh long hair and was raffling the videos? anyway, he mentioned that he was trying to get an FJ to "field test" at tellico etc. so i told him we were all going to be at Tellico for MLK and to let us know if he could get one to bring up there...

that would be cool.

it never hurts to ask

I sent this to him.
Hope ya'll don't mind. :)

I got your e-mail address from TLCA. My name is David Harrison.
I'm a proud member and VP of Upstate Cruisers.
Upstate Cruisers will be at Upper Tellico ORV for the Martin Luther King
Holiday weekend. All Cruiserheads are welcome to join us. We will be
staying at Riversong. The link is for other rentals in the area. Riversong is
a larger chalet and has ample parking for trailers as well. We at Upstate
Cruisers were honored that Toyota invited our club to the Greenville event.
IT WAS AWESOME!
Let us return the favor and show you southern hospitality at it's finest.
Several Land Cruiser clubs will be in attendance.
I know this request is short notice, but I would be remiss if I didn't extend
our invitation and heart felt gratitude.

You guys rock!

Nice work David! Thanks for taking the initiative here and getting the message sent.

Much better coming from an esteemed officer of UC than some noob plebeian anyway!! :D

Man, would it be cool to see the FJ Cruiser in the middle of the group climbing up trail 6 or what??

That was EXACTLY the image I had. Up #6. :bounce:
We'll probably only do the stock trails like 4,5,6 or 8.
I like that up 6 down 5 route. Water crossing shots
on 5 would be nice.
And then there is the party and film at 11 aspect.
Lodging is no problem. :)
Bring those big screen TVs...and

That would be sweet then we could really see what this thing has instead of talking about it the whole time.

Damn, that'd be crazy.

And I'd be even more pissed I can't go. :frown:

JP why didnt you send them an email? Your slacking in your duties as events coordinator. :flipoff2: You should be coordinating.

because by the time I read the thread David already sent them the e-mail.......... and he is a much better speaker than I............

believe it of not I have been working the past couple of days and not wasting my life on mud like I do up at school :D

timing is EVERYTHING

Close but no cigar fellas. :(
I smell GSMTR and FJ Cruiser coming up.

Man, those Toyota guys are really nice.
I'll tell you this much, when that thing hits Tellico
I'm going to watch.

The reply:
Hi David,

First let me thank you for your enthusiasm for Cruisers! I am glad you
enjoyed the Greenville event, thanks for your club's participation.
Unfortunatley we will not be able to attend your club's event over the
Martin Luther King Holiday weekend, as our vehicles will not be available.

However, we will have FJ Trial Teams attending TLCA and other events all
summer. We will be wheeling at the best trails in the country, so exoect to
see us at Tellico at least a few times. If your club is hosting an event
you think we should be at please let me know and I will see if it fits into
our schedule.

Thanks for the invitation,

Brady Clarke

my reply

Thanks for your consideration and prompt reply Brady.
While we're disappointed, we understand. Timing is
always so important. Juggling a busy schedule such
as you guys must now have would be tough.
Rest assured if we hear of the FJ Cruiser hitting the trail
ANYWHERE near our neck of the woods and we'll be there.
It's easy to get behind a project like this where the gang
has obviously put careful thought into the truck to
better fill consumer's needs.
I think Toyota has hit a homerun here. We just want to
help spread the word and be cheerleaders if we can.
Next time we meet I hope we get to return the wonderful
hospitality shown to Upstate Cruisers.
I hope next time we meet it will be where the road ends
and the fun begins.

David R. Harrison VP Upstate Cruisers

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Thanks again for your time and effort David.

See you guys at Tellico!! :grinpimp:

Good try David and good setup for GSMTR! Also good way to keep those important lines of communication open.
