Hi, all! I have been here for a while, mostly lurking, but reading my share of goings on here. I am to the point that I can get a cruiser finally, and have been looking for a while now. Long story short, I have found a decent 71 fj40 for sale, that needs a little work, but its only $600. The engine is in working condition, the axles are from a 78 fj40 and are the disc break axles, the body and frame seem ok from the pictures. Im planning on doing a one ton axle swap, 350 sbc, and the associated transmission and transfer case pair, perhaps an atlas crawler box. Fabrication is not an issue, so thats not my question. What I would like to know is:

1. Is this a good price for a running engine, frame, and body?

2. What do you guys think I can get for the parts I take off and want to sell, i.e., engine, axles, transmission, transfer case, etc...?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that's a good price IMO. Best way to get a good idea of what your used parts are worth is to look through the classified section on this board and see what other people are asking for thiers, it's probably the best place to post them as well.
