So the same truck can be very different . That's the reason for starting a thread for fj-45 swb or lwb.

Mort aux vaches .....Marc.

That FJ45 on the bottom was being build by a dude named Frank. He had a BB for awhile there and did updates on his build. This was about a year or more ago, then he dropped out of site and his BB disappeared.
Wonder what happened to him, and his build?

here's one ya don't have

i have a '78 fj45, long wheel base, 1.5 ton (not sure if they all came with this capacity). it was my grandfather's farm truck which he bought new from the factory--he traded in an older model fj45 for the '78. it's only had a paint retouch (not the greatest) and because my uncle abused it (after years and years of care by my grandpa), the bed floor got more use and he ended up putting a 1/4 inch steel cover.
maybe i should put this in the introduction thread?
edit: yes. see the owners' sticky.

Some one or several people hacked into his website and trashed it, and him too.:frown: It all started after he posted that thread about the Lexus on the cover of TT. Personal problems as well. His dad took ill and he ended up moving from Bakersfield to Palm Springs. That all went down about two years ago now.

Haven't heard from Frank for about a year now.:frown:

Anyhow, back on track. Here's a pic of my 45lwb:
