I was wondering what type of aftermarket instrument cluster options there might be. Also does any one make a aftermarket panel that just covers the whole dash with new holes for gauges and toggle switches or do people just weld up holes and patch dashes. Thanks for your information. I tried to search but did not find much use full information.

I got a entire dash panel with my hood and front bib I bought second hand. It is fiberglass, but its pretty good quality with a low spot for the gauge cluster and dimples for the pull knobs. If you wanted you could just cut holes for aftermarket gauges where the gauge cluster would go. I don't know of the brand as the guy i bought it from found it in a storage unit haha, but they are out there.

amaurer sells a kit to update your current cluster with new ones so you can keep the stock speedo cluster. It's badass. I plan to buy one sometime in the near future.

His production is on long term hiatus with no specified return date. I got one of the last dozen kits.

Everyone has been a great help and I have lots to figure out now but the leads you have given are great. The digital one in the original cluster is badass. There is nothing wrong witht he look or operation of mine stock one I am just going through the whole rig and building it nice for my wife and I want modern gauges. The auto meter quad gauges are the ones I think I am going to use so now I just have to decide on a pattern that she likes. Thanks again for all your help. Does amaurer do the digital in the stock cluster?

Nope. His kits adapted Autometer gauges to fit in the oil, temp, and amp positions.

There is a thread in the Merchandise Storefront area for the digital gauges, but it appears no progress has been made on actually brining the product to market.

That sucks! Did he specify as to why he stopped making them?

I heard that he got lazy about a year ago and wanted to focus on making knobs, so he gave that business to his fiancee. She carried on with it until they both started a weird extended cross country move thing and they just couldn't keep up with moving and filling orders... so all his side businesses are kaput indefinitely.

... but...

Turns out that when Kelly ordered The Very Last Run of brackets, the waterjet guy ran off 50% more than usual. We didn't notice until today. So if you're interested she can do a few more kits. They'll probably be gone in a day or so, however... no pressure. :D If you're interested post up here and PM her: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-seri...ven-mechanical-gauges-into-stock-cluster.html

I bought the covers that JT sells to cover the dash. Haven't installed them yet. They look good and pretty much cover everything.

Also bought the metal tech gauge panel and Marshall gauges.
