I was told that 200 AHC suspension have longer travel - is it true?
What if I want to fit them into 100?

I'm exploring the option of having 33" tires + replacing upper arm and 200 AHC suspension - without any spacers
What do you think?

What about torsion bars and rear coil springs - keeping in mind the AHC need some help and support from these guys maybe I change them as well

Did any one did something like that?
Is it worth going down the path or there's something I'm missing here?

Will appreciate your support

Nothing from a 200 will bolt to a 100. People have talked about converting the 100 to a coilover front end but nothing has been really successful, from what I've seen. You can run 33s with not spacers easily the way your truck is set up now.

I'm not saying that it is impossible, but for the amount of work involved, why?

If you're going to go through all of the effort to redesign the front suspension and graft another suspension on there, why not use the suspension from an 80 series?

Project 180 SAS

Reasonable width ~33" tires should fit just fine without any changes or spacers.

Correct, why would you do that, just add the 33's and go. There's dozens of trucks on here running 275/70's, which I think is the 33 inch equivalent.

Thank you for project 180 SAS - too much for me
My main target was to keep stay with IFS, Keep the AHC and extend its travel
extended AHC system is the main issue here ...
Any ideas?

You may want to read through this thread

Cranking torsion bars

It's an older thread that explains some of the issues that you're trying to address, and at least one person's solution.

I'm running 275/70s on stock AHC. No issues for me. If I was looking for more extreme I agree, go SAS.

I think 275/70R16 is equal to a 31" tire: Tire Size Converter

285/75R16 is close to a 33" @ 32.8"...

Yea what ever happened to the Russians with their bolt in coil over conversion. That's been a while ago now.

Thank you for the Russian link and the others as well
I think that the most useful info until now was the tire size and rubbing marks + the Japan 4x4 brackets
Will start with 33" tires
Who is the manufacture of the Dynamic suspension ?

FYI - I have 17" wheels so 285/70/17 or change wheels to 16" 285/75/16
Don't have too many options in Israel

IMO, with thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of work, you could get it to work. But it wouldn't be as reliable or trouble free as the stock AHC or traditional suspension. It would honestly be cheaper to sell your rig and find a used 200.

If you really want long travel IFS on a Toyota for a "reasonable" amount of cash, sell the 100, buy a 2003+ 4Runner. Then get the $3K long travel kit from Total Chaos, longer control arms, longer axles = more travel. To get reliable long travel on a 100 the fabrication cost is going to be in the ballpark of a SAS conversion. Maybe one day Total Chaos will do a kit for the 100, but a lot of us would have to sign up for a group buy to justify the up front investment.
