Was doing some driving on trails in Northern Michigan and might have hit a bump a little too big in one of the many mud pits I drove through. I'm having the mount welded back and reinforced but I also noticed the shock is almost worn out. Does anybody have good brands for new shocks?

I cant say Ive seen too many break like that. I would have thought the shock absorber would have disintegrated before the mount. Maybe its been damaged or heat treated before
Old Man Emu Nitrocharger are among the best shock you can get for ride quality and strength. Tough Dog and Dobinsons are also well regarded.

Shock length is wrong or adjust your bump stops in my opinion it shouldnt bottom out on the shocks
