I tried to get it out again with out luck. I’m going to run it, cross my fingers, and replace the oil in a few hundred miles.

Thanks for all the replies.

I saw how much room there was and put just the tip in to see if I could just squeeze it in, then.... oops.

Quoted for posterity. That and a reminder kids will ruin your cruiser budget.... LOL

Already beat to it but yup, posted over a decade ago and a few times since.

Concrete’s rig is just fine.

Yea... The plan was to use a siphon to put the oil in. I saw how much room there was and put just the tip in to see if I could just squeeze it in, then.... oops.
BTW, I did exactly the same thing for the same reason and with the same result so was looking on Mud to see what to do! Glad for me that others have paved the way of knowledge Haha. I think we both won't let this happen again.

Couldn't you drain the oil then stick a hose in there connected to a vacuum cleaner? Poke the hose around until the cap sticks to the end of the hose, then carefully withdraw the hose/cap.

I mean, the cap won't harm the diff, but your oil bottle will be capless....:frown:,
